Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore National Park is situated approximately 13.5 kilometers from the city of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. Nestled at the junction of the Aravali and Vindhya hill ranges, it is one of the best destinations to observe wildlife, particularly because the animals here are accustomed to human presence. The park spans an area of about 400 square kilometers, and when combined with the adjacent Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary, the total protected area extends to nearly 500 square kilometers.

The landscape of Ranthambore is dotted with historical remnants that evoke memories of a bygone era. Numerous water bodies are scattered throughout the park, offering vital respite to the wildlife during the intense summer heat. Overlooking the park from a hilltop is the imposing Ranthambore Fort, after which the park is named. Ruins from past centuries are found throughout the forest, creating a unique blend of nature, history, and wildlife. Remarkably, tigers at Ranthambore are often seen hunting in plain view of visitors, adding to the park’s thrilling appeal.
